Former Nevada state Gaming Control Board member Mark Clayton is joining Nevada’s largest law firm, Lionel Sawyer & Collins.
Clayton completed his term on the Control Board at the end of 2008, and will join the law firm’s gaming and regulatory practices on January 20th. He was appointed to the Control Board in 2004 by Republican Governor Kenny Guinn and decided not to seek another four-year term.
Clayton will be based in Las Vegas and is expected to concentrate on finance, public gaming companies, manufacturers & distributors of gaming equipment, legislation, and assistance to clients and governments concerning gaming in other jurisdictions.
Clayton will continue to serve as vice chairman of the gaming law section of the State Bar of Nevada, and as an adjunct professor for gaming law at the Boyd School of Law at UNLV.
