Ken Tolle, a former executive at satellite TV firm EchoStar, and Robert Roper, formerly a special counsel to Discovery Communications, have launched a law firm catering to the media & entertainment industry.
The Denver-based boutique is called Launch Pad Media Advisers.
Tolle and Roper were most recently with Denver’s Moye/White LLP, Roper as chairman of the media & entertainment practice; Tolle of counsel.
Tolle is a former VP of programming and business affairs for EchoStar. Roper has represented a number of media programming companies and was involved in the production of “Whale Wars,” a series on Animal Planet.
LPMA will focus its practice on “content creation and distribution, representing national and internationally-based television networks, major sports networks, production companies and advertising concerns along with a host of writers, producers and others in the creative arts.”
The firm said it will offer a non-traditional fee structure, including “flat-fee-based programs coupled with incentives designed to reward the company’s advisers for contributing to client success.”
