Faced with taking in only half its incoming class this year while cutting costs, Scotland’s McClure Naismith pulled the names of the lucky solicitors out of a hat. Literally.
McClure Naismith, which has offices across the UK, the Continent, America and East Asia, told four trainees hired by its Glasgow head office only two could join the company this year.
The other two are being deferred for a year, without compensation. Many deferral schemes are voluntary, and most include compensation.
McClure Naismith Anderson & Gardiner is a commercial law firm that practices in corporate finance, banking, commercial property, and litigation sectors.
