One of the world’s leading international offshore law firms, Harney Westwood & Riegels, has laid off two lawyers and six staffers. Another employee’s contract was not renewed.
The decision was blamed on the global economic meltdown.
Founded in 1960, Harney Westwood & Riegels provides the world’s top law firms, financial institutions and corporations with legal services relating to British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Cyprus law.
The firm headquarters is in Road Town, capital of the BVI. The firm also has offices in London, Hong Kong and Anguilla.
