The University of Texas School of Law has announced its Long Career Launch Program, which will aid graduates whose start dates have been deferred, or who have not yet secured employment, find legal work experience in unpaid internships through November 2009.
The program offers a $6,000 stipend to work with a government agency or public interest organization. Organizations interested in bringing on UTA Law grads can contact the school directly.
The program is funded by a grant from the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long Foundation.
The University of Texas School of Law is an ABA-certified American law school located on the University of Texas at Austin campus. The law school has been in existence since the founding of the University in 1883. It offers both Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degrees.
The school is number 15 on today’s US News & World Report list of top US law schools. It is tied with UCLA Law, which is offering its own internship program for deferred graduates.
