Those offered positions will defer for one year, and participate in a public interest fellowship program in 2011.
Also the firm, which usually recruits on campuses in late Summer/early Fall, will hold recruitment between November 2009 and March 2010. This is to give current summers a chance to decide whether they will accept offers with Orrick, so the firm does not over-recruit.
Orrick previously deferred its incoming Fall 2009 class to January and March of 2010, and offered fellowships to those who chose to defer their start dates further to January 2011.
Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, founded in 1863, has over 1,100 lawyers worldwide in 21 offices. The firm’s day-to-day administrative operations are centralized at a Global Operations Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.
