Winston & Strawn has opened offices in Beijing and Shanghai. In Beijing, the firm has hired Ge Xiangyang away from Bakey & McKenzie to head up its new office. The Shanghai office is the result of the Chinese Justice Ministry’s approval of Winston & Strawn’s take over of two offices from the collapsed firm Heller Ehrman.
Winston & Strawn’s managing partner, Thomas Fitzgerald, says “As the world market continues to rebound from last year’s downturn we see Asia, and China particularly, continuing to play an increasingly important roleâ€. Currently the firm has 5 partners spread between the Beijing and Shanghai offices.
