Michaele and Tareq Salahi, the couple that garnered national attention for showing up to dinner without an invitation at last week’s state dinner for the Prime Minister of India have retained counsel from the firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf. Stephen Best, the co-chairman of the firm’s white collar defense group and associate Derek Anderson, a former Navy Seal and federal prosecutor comprise the couple’s legal team. Although they have not yet been charged with a crime, Congressman Bennie Thompson, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said today that he’s drawing up a subpoena after the Salahi’s declined to testify at a hearing.
