A court-appointed trustee and a Manhattan law firm, who have been working to unravel Bernard Madoff’s massive fraud, have rung up another $22.1 million in legal fees.
A judge approved the payment in Manhattan’s federal bankruptcy court Thursday. This payment comes after payouts of over $15 million in July.
The lawyers at Baker & Hostetler say they’re following a paper trail that spans the globe in attempt to process over 16,000 claims and seeking to recover billions in losses.
Madoff is currently serving 150 year prison sentence.
