Penn State’s Board of Trustees approved the appointment of one of their own to the position of vice president and senior counsel. In addition to being a former chair of the Board of Trustees, Cynthia Baldwin is a former Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice and most recently a partner at Duane Morris. Baldwin’s role as general counsel is to coordinate and oversee legal work, perform certain core legal tasks and advise the board.
The university has a long standing relationship with local law firm McQuaide Blasko, which has served as general counsel for the school for five decades, and much of Penn State’s legal work will continue to be done by the firm. “We have been served extraordinarily well by McQuaide Blasko and we will maintain a significant relationship with them well into the future,” said Penn State President Graham Spanier.
