The firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA) announced today it was chosen to advise the Government of Bermuda on its proposed reform of both the Corporations of Hamilton and St. George’s (the Municipalities). MLA has partnered with the Bermuda-based law firm Attride-Stirling & Wolonecki Barristers & Attorneys (AS&W) in this initiative. Together, the firms will coordinate a comprehensive audit of the Municipalites operations, after conducting an examination of Bermuda’s Municipalities Act of 1923.
The Hon. Walter Roban, J.P., M.P., Minister of Health of Bermuda today stated, “I am happy to announce the appointment of AS&W and MLA to move this initiative forward. They bring a great deal of experience in reform efforts both in the private and public sector, which we think will be of value in this project. The consultants have been given specific objectives and timelines so that we can move forward with reform later in 2010.”
