Steven Chester, former Michigan Department of Environmental Quality director, has joined the Detroit office of Foley & Lardner LLP. Chester will work in the firm’s environmental regulation practice. Chester left the DEQ in early January after the merger of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the DEQ. Before his work with the DEQ Chester was a principal at Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone PLC. He also worked with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
