The Senate confirmed Ronald Machen as U.S. Attorney for D.C. on Thursday. Machen was a partner at WilmerHale. He was assistant attorney in DC from 1997 to 2001. Machen faced no opposition and was confirmed without a formal vote.

Sharon Bowen, a partner in Latham & Watkins’ New York office, was confirmed as a director of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation.
Ketanji Brown, of counsel to Morrison & Foerster’s Washington office was confirmed to a seat on the U.S. Sentencing Commission.
Richard Hartunian, an assistant U.S. Attorney, was confirmed as U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York.
