Steptoe & Johnson announced that they have opened a new office in Beijing, their first foray into Asia. International trade partner Eric Emerson relocated to Beijing to assume the role of managing partner at the new office. Susan Munro, former counsel to O’Melveny & Myers’ Shanghai office, will join Emerson. She has experience in corporate transactions and litigation work in the region. The Beijing office will focus on advising Chinese companies on outbound investments and help navigate U.S. and European regulations.

Founded in 1913, Steptoe & Johnson is a Washington, D.C. based firm with over 450 lawyers in 8 locations worldwide including Brussels, Chicago, London, the Los Angeles area, New York and Phoenix.
