The New York Times is reporting that Governor David Paterson has turned to lawyer Theodore V. Wells for legal assistance. Wells was a member of former Governor Eliot Spitzer’s legal team in 2008. He is a partner and Co-Chairman of the litigation department at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, a New York City based firm. Wells specializes in white-collar criminal defense, complex civil and corporate litigation, SEC regulatory work, FCPA investigations, environmental matters, and class action litigation. He received his B.A. at the College of Holy Cross in 1972, his M.B.A at Harvard Business School in 1976 and his J.D. at Harvard Law School in 1976.
Wells has defended numerous other high profile clients including “Scooter” Libby, Robert G. Torricelli, Michael Milken and others.
