Arnold & Porter has added to its white-collar practice with three additions from Arent Fox. John Nassikas and Baruch Weiss join Arnold & Porter as partners and Laura Lester comes aboard as counsel. All have joined the firm’s Washington D.C. office.
Nassikas is a former assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia from 1991-95. Most recently, he headed the white collar defense and government investigations practice group at Arent Fox. Nassikas is taking on the lead coordinating role for Arnold & Porter’s white collar group.
Weiss has previously held senior positions at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Treasury. He served as an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 1984-2002. Weiss’ practice includes SEC and DOJ securities and fraud investigations, FCPA investigations, and criminal and civil OFAC enforcement matters.
Lester focuses her practice on federal and state criminal healthcare, antitrust, public corruption, and government contracts investigations worldwide.
