Federal and local agencies raided the Irvine, CA offices of United Law Group, Inc. yesterday in conjunction with a loan modification fraud investigation.
In a Mar 12 PR Web press release, United Law Group’s senior managing attorney Robert Buscho said, “United Law Group has nothing to hide. Our cases are well documented and recorded. We are confident that this investigation will prove that our firm has acted in the best interests of all of our clients and are hopeful that it will shed light on the truth of what the banks are doing to the American public.”
According to FBI Spokeswoman Laura Eimiller, the raid was part of an ongoing federal investigation involving possible loan modification fraud.
According to the affidavit, interviews with clients and former employees reveal United Law Group collects upfront fees ranging between $1,500 and $12,000 before any work begins. However, investigators didn’t know of any cases where the company completed a successful loan modification, beyond the ones cited in their advertising campaign.
United Law Group is one of the largest class action litigation firms in the country, with offices in California, New York, and Florida.
