Squire Sanders Public Advocacy, the lobbying affiliate of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, has added Brian P. Woolfolk as a principal with SSPA and as of counsel of the firm.
Woolfolk is the co-founder of boutique lobbying shop Mattox Woolfolk. He also previously served as Democratic counsel on the House Judiciary Committee. In that role he provided oversight and monitored the appropriations process for programs in agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice, Department of Treasury, Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.
“Brian has an impressive background that combines years of working experience inside the US federal government with more than a decade as a lobbyist advising clients in key industries such as financial services, trade and telecommunications,” said practice leader Robert D. Lehman in a statement.
In explaining his move to SSPA, Woolfolk, who has experience advising clients on trade issues in Brazil, cited Squire Sanders’ extensive presence in Latin America.
