Allen & Overy promoted 18 to partner this year, two less than a year ago, and Slaughter and May promoted just two, which is the same as last year. Freshfields added 18 associates to its partner ranks, which is an increase from the 14 that were promoted last year.

Allen & Overy managing partner Wim Dejonghe said “over half of the firm’s turnover continues to be generated outside the UK and two-thirds of our work is cross-border.”
