International firm Eversheds has named five new partners to its global operations. The new partners will be based at the firm’s offices in London, Madrid, Munich, Paris and Rotterdam.

María de Castro has joined the firms Madrid office as both Partner and the new Head of the Employment Department in the region. Having joined from an in-house position at telecoms giant Ericsson, de Castro brings expertise that will strengthen the firms’ client service excellence delivery strategy, Eversheds said in a press release.

Dr. Joos Hellert, who practices franchise law as well as dispute resolution and corporate compliance, joins Eversheds in Germany. Joos was Legal Director of the Central European division at Burger King as well as a member of the management board for Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

In Rotterdam, property and sustainable energy partner Paul Goedvolk, formerly of a boutique Dutch property firm and Allen & Overy, joins the firm’s global property and sector leading renewable energy group.

Jeremy Irving has joined as a partner in the firm’s insurance group in London. Formerly with DLA Piper UK, Jeremy Irving will lead Eversheds’ London team advising on commercial and FSA regulatory/compliance issues in the insurance and reinsurance markets.

Litigation partner Rémi Kleiman joins the firms Paris office having previously worked at Montespan and Field Fisher Waterhouse. Kleiman specializes in commercial litigation, notably with regard to financial and banking litigation for banks and other domestic and international financial institutions.

Stephen Hopkins, Eversheds Head of International, commented on the move in a press release.

“These new partners have been appointed in line with Eversheds strategy to deliver high quality consistent advice in key sectors across the international jurisdictions in which Eversheds now operates,” Hopkins said.

Eversheds has more than 4,500 service providers for the business and finance community. It has 47 international offices in 29 jurisdictions.
