Sidley Austin has appointed Stanimir Alexandrov and Ing Loong Yang as global coordinators of its international commercial and treaty arbitration practice. Sidleys international arbitration group is based in the firm’s Washington D.C., London, Brussels, Geneva, Hong Kong and Singapore offices.
Charles Douglas, chair of Sidley’s management committee, said in a press release that international arbitration is “one of the most valuable dispute resolution practices for our global clients.”
Alexandrov, who is resident in the firm’s Washington D.C. office, focuses his practice in the areas of international dispute resolution, including investor-state arbitration and international commercial arbitration, and resolution of trade disputes before the World Trade Organization (WTO). Yang, a resident in the firm’s Singapore office, regularly acts as counsel in international arbitrations and cross-border litigation, particularly on matters in the Greater China region as well as Southeast Asia.
