The newly-formed megafirm Hogan Lovells, which launched May 1 with the merger of UK-based Lovells and Hogan & Hartson, has made its first lateral hire. Joining the firm’s Silicon Valley office from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is Jon Layman, who will serve in the corporate practice group.
Layman’s practice provides advisement to public and private companies in a variety of industries, including clean energy and technology, electronics, contract manufacturing, homeland security, semiconductors, life sciences, natural products and organic agriculture.
“This is an exciting time in the development of Hogan Lovells,” Layman said in a press release. “The depth, diversity, and global reach of Hogan Lovells will be an outstanding platform to serve my clients. I welcome the opportunity to further my practice as part of Hogan Lovells’ highly-regarded corporate team.”
Hogan Lovells refers to the international legal practice comprising Hogan Lovells International LLP, Hogan Lovells US LLP, Hogan Lovells Worldwide Group (a Swiss Verein), and their affiliated businesses, each of which is a separate legal entity.
