U.K.-based attorney Andrew B. Harris has left his position as private equity head at DLA Piper to take over as managing partner at the London office of Kaye Scholer.
In a press release, Kaye Scholer described Harris as a “recognized leader” in private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and disposals/exits.
Barry Willner, Kaye Scholer’s co-managing partner, commented on the move in a press release.
“Andrew’s joining our firm furthers the major investment by Kaye Scholer in UK and European private equity, corporate and M&A, and supplements our existing transactional practice in London. London is key to our global strategy.”
Willner also noted that most U.S.-based law firms in London center their private equity practices on serving U.S.-based funds. The addition of Harris will allow Kaye Scholer to also focus on advising UK and Europe-based funds.
International law firm Kaye Scholer was founded in New York City in 1917. It also has offices in Chicago, Frankfurt, London, Los Angeles, Menlo Park (CA), New York, Shanghai, Washington, DC, and West Palm Beach (FL).
