Thompson Hine has bolstered its Washington D.C. product liability practice group with the addition of Fern Phillips O’Brian, a one-time London office head for Arnold & Porter.
O’Brian led Arnold & Porter’s London office from 1999 until her return to D.C. in 2003. She focuses on health effects litigation and counseling companies on regulatory matters involving product liability and toxic tort. She also represents emerging technology companies and research organizations, including those developing and commercializing nanotechnology-enabled products.
Thompson Hine’s product liability practice group head, Elizabeth Wright, said in a statement that O’Brian’s “depth of experience in the toxic tort and consumer and health care product areas will be a great benefit to our clients.”
O’Brian is a frequent author and speaker on product liability and mass tort issues such as class actions, admissibility of expert evidence and product liability prevention.
Thompson Hine is a business law firm founded in 1911. It has approximately 400 lawyers with offices in Atlanta, Brussels, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, New York and Washington, D.C.
