Three intellectual partners from Dewey & LeBoeuf, including Barbara Caulfield, the managing partner of its East Palo Alto office, have left the firm to join Kaye Scholer, the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal reports.
Caulfield is joined in the move by partners Michael Malecek and Peter Root. The trio will be joining Kaye Scholer’s Menlo Park office, which has been open for business for five months.
Caulfield, a former federal judge in California’s Northern District from 1991 to 1994, focuses her practice on IP litigation for pharmaceutical and bio-tech companies. Malecek focuses on patent litigation and Root specializes in business and commercial litigation, including IP mergers and acquisitions.
According to the Business Journal, Kaye Scholer’s Menlo Park office opened March 1 and is the firm’s ninth office.
