The war crimes trial featuring infamous British supermodel Naomi Campell can add another famous name to its list of celebrities. American actress Mia Farrow has testified in the case.
Farrow is making claims that she overheard Campbell telling people that she had received a “huge diamond,” as Farrow put it, from the former President of Liberia, Charles Taylor. She describe the model as being “quite excited” about receiving the diamond during breakfast the morning after a 1997 charity dinner held in South Africa.
Interestingly, and perhaps incriminating for Ms. Campell, is that Farrow’s testimony contradicts what Ms. Campbell had said during her testimony last week. Also contradiction Ms. Campbell’s statements was a testimony from her former agent, saying that Charles Taylor promised to give the model diamonds during the charity dinner.
The stones in question are believed to be a party of the “blood diamond” trade. Former President Taylor denies the accusation.
