Bradley Byrne, who earlier this year lost the Republican nomination for governor of Alabama, has joined Jones Walker as a partner in the firm’s offices in Mobile and Birmingham, Ala. The former Alabama state legislator will serve as a member of Jones Walker’s business & commercial transactions practice group.
According to a press release from the firm, Byrne will focus his practice on assisting with business transaction matters and legislative and administrative advocacy.
“Bradley Byrne has a long history of service to the state of Alabama, said William Hines, managing partner of Jones Walker. “He is recognized for his commitment to improving education in the state, as demonstrated by his work to revamp and revitalize Alabama’s community college system, as well as for his acute legal mind, his integrity, and his problem solving skills.”
Byrne served in the Alabama legislature from 2002-2007. Following that he was appointed by the Alabama State Board of Education as Chancellor of the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. In that role he serves as CEO of the state’s two-year college system.
In addition to Alabama, Jones Walker has offices in Arizona, Washington D.C., Florida, Louisiana and Texas.
