Charles M. ‘Chuck” Greenberg, who recently became the new managing partner and CEO of the Texas Rangers baseball club, is transitioning his legal practice from Pepper Hamilton to Reed Smith, where he will serve as counsel.
Formerly a partner at the Pittsburgh office of Pepper Hamilton, Greenberg served as head of the firm’s sports practice and was a past member of its executive committee. He is chairman and founder of the Greenberg Sports Group and recently led the team of investors, which included Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan, that won a hotly-contested auction to become owners of the Rangers.
In addition to Greenberg, also joining Reed Smith from Pepper Hamilton is Kristin I. Wells. She was a partner at Pepper Hamilton and in her new role will provide leadership in transitioning and managing Greenberg’s practice.
Reed Smith is a global relationship law firm with nearly 1,600 lawyers in 22 offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
