Sidley Austin has added to its international trade and Latin America practices. In New York, Alyssa A. Grikscheit has joined the firm as a partner in the Latin America and investment funds, advisers and derivatives practice. While in Geneva, Sybilla C. Fries joins as counsel in the international trade and World Trade Organization practice.
Grikscheit will focus her practice on cross-border transactions and alternative investment funds. She has significant experience representing clients in Latin American, emerging market and other cross-border transactions, including M&A, joint ventures and fund formation.
Sidley’s investment funds, advisers and derivatives practice consists of more than 120 lawyers in Chicago, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Singapore and Tokyo.
Fries joins the firm from the European Union Permanent Delegation to the WTO, where she has served as Legal Counsel since 2006. At the Delegation, Fries provided in-house legal advice on European and international law, with a specific focus on international trade law and dispute settlement at the WTO.
Sidley’s International Trade practice includes approximately 70 professionals based in Washington, D.C., Geneva and Brussels.
