Milbank, Tweed Hadley & McCloy has added lateral partner Dieter Yih to launch a practice in Hong Kong in 2011, the firm said in a press release Tuesday. The move is being described as “a significant expansion of Milbank’s 35-year presence in Hong Kong.”
Dieter, whose practice focuses on corporate finance and M&A, will join Milbank’s U.S. partnership in 2011 and the firm’s Hong Kong partnership when it is established later that year. He is a former partner at Mallesons Stephen Jacques.
“We are expanding our capabilities in response to the sustained growth of international capital markets and M&A deal activity involving Hong Kong law,” said Mel Immergut, Milbank’s Chairman. “As one of Hong Kong’s leading corporate lawyers, Dieter will play a key role in meeting the growing needs of our corporate, private equity and investment banking clients.”
Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP is headquartered in New York and has 11 offices worldwide, including Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore.
