Brady Mickelsen, former vice president and general counsel of Oracle Corp., has joined White & Case as a partner in its Silicon Valley M&A practice.
Mickelsen most recently headed Oracle’s corporate, securities and acquisitions legal group, where over the past five years he managed more than 60 acquisitions and strategic investments, including Oracle’s acquisitions of Sun Microsystems and BEA Systems.
“There are not many lawyers in Silicon Valley who have done as many deals as Brady has,” said Bijal Vakil, executive partner of White & Case’s Silicon Valley office. “His direct, hands-on M&A experience will be invaluable to our clients.”
Oliver Brahmst, head of White & Case’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice in the Americas, said Mickelsen’s addition “will provide our technology clients with a unique perspective on deal-making.”
Mickelsen served Oracle for more than five years. The Sun Microsystems and BEA Systems deals alone had an aggregate value of more than $40 billion.
