Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP announced that Ron Kriss has joined the firm as a Partner in the Real Estate Practice Group and Chair of the Distressed Property Practice Group, and Paul Shelowitz has joined as a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group, effective immediately.
In the press release at the firm’s site, Alan Klinger, Stroock’s Co-Managing Partner was quoted as saying: “We believe Ron and Paul will be exceptional additions to our Miami Office. There is a very natural fit between Stroock’s existing clientele and expertise and Ron and Paul’s ability to grow and service both current real estate needs in work-out situations as well as development opportunities that will arise as economic conditions improve. They will be an important part of Stroock’s growth in the southeastern U.S. market place, and we are pleased to welcome them to the firm.”

As chair of Stroock’s Distressed Property Practice Group, he will concentrate on representing lenders in loan recovery and investors in the purchase of defaulted loans.
