Troutman Sanders LLP , a leading international law firm with over 650 lawyers and 16 offices worldwide, named Stephen E. Lewis, the firm’s former corporate section chief, to be the new Managing Partner as of January 1, 2011. Lewis replaced Robert W. Webb Jr. who served as the firm’s Managing Partner for over 17 years. Webb remains at Troutman Sanders as the firms’ chairman.

Lewis has been with the firm since 1991. He became a partner in 1999 and elected to the firm’s executive committee in 2003. His areas of practice includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and general business matters. Lewis received numerous legal honors throughout his career. He has been recognized among the top lawyers by the Legal Elite magazine and the Atlanta Magazine and Law & Politics. Lewis is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina where he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees.
