Two Former Senators Join Arent Fox

Arent Fox LLP, a Washington-based law firm with more than 350 lawyers, announced that former Republican Senator Robert Bennett from Utah and former Democratic Senator Byron Dorgan of North Dakota have united with the firm to work as the new Senior Policy Advisers on a bi-partisan approach. The two US senators will join the government relations practice at the firm’s office in Washington, DC. Dorgan is the new co-chair of the practice while Bennett will focus his practice on advising international clients. The extensive political experience of the two senators is expected to bolster and expand the firm’s government relations practice.

Dorgan, who served in the US Senate Leadership for over 14 years, will join former US Representative Phil English as the co-chair of the government relations practice of the firm. Dorgan said that he is excited to work with Arent Fox which is a recognized leader in the government relations area among other practices such as intellectual property, real estate, telecommunications, health care, automotive, sports, white collar, international trade, bankruptcy and complex litigation.” “Bob Bennett and I have worked closely on many issues while in the US Senate, and I am excited to work with him in this new role of a Senior Policy Advisor at one of Washington’s premier law firms.”

At Arent Fox, Bennett will not only focus on the firm’s Washington office but will also spend time in other firm’s offices particularly in Los Angeles. Bennett commented: “I am delighted to join forces with my good friend Byron Dorgan as Washington is making critical decisions that will have lasting effects on every business and every industry. I’m confident our bi-partisan approach, coupled with Phil English and the outstanding professionals at Arent Fox, will serve our clients well in this new endeavor.”
