McDermott Will & Emery will open an office in Paris on May 2, 2011.
The addition of the office will make it the seventh European office for the firm. Other European offices are located in Brussels, London, Milan, Rome, Düsseldorf and Munich.
The firm opened the office to better meet the needs of multinational clients operating in France. To achieve this, attorneys in the firm’s corporate, tax, competition, employment and litigation practice groups will focus on cross-border transactions.
Peter J. Sacripanti and Jeffrey E. Jacques Buhart, formerly head of the Corporate and Competition Groups at the Paris office of Herbert Smith, and one of France’s leading international lawyers, will lead the team of five partners in the office. Other partners include Thibaud Forbin, co-head of the Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions practice at Delsol Avocats , Hervé Bidaud, a leading tax lawyer with extensive experience in international taxation, and Jilali Maazouz, a partner in the Paris office of Bryan Cave, who represents French as well as international corporate clients. One more partner will join the office directly.
