TiVo and EchoStar Not Allowed by Court of Appeals to Dismiss Appeal After Settlement

TiVo Inc and EchoStar were denied their bid to dismiss an appeal by the US Court of Appeals after a $500 million suit on April 29, 2011. The Federal Circuit reportedly “vacated a $110 million award against EchoStar Corp. for continued infringement of TiVo Inc.’s patents after a permanent injunction, but affirmed a $90 million award against EchoStar as a sanction for its contempt finding”.
