The lawsuit brought by Colombian citizens against Chiquita Brands International was rejected by Judge Kenneth Marra. He said that there should be a high burden of proof that the plaintiffs must meet. In this split decision given by the judge both the sides got their share of victory. The lawsuit was filed seeking compensation from the company in its alleged involvement in human rights abuse cases.
