Nite Moves, one of New York City’s famous strip clubs lost its
case, as New York Court declared lap dances, as taxable. In fact, it filed a protest stating these as part of musical art performances, as it was slammed with tax amount of over U$100,000, based on its 2005 audit report. In spite of club brought in a dance expert to prove its point, court rejected its arguments, due to lack of adequate proof. In fact, court argued, businesses must be aware of tax laws, to claim legal deductions, without affecting bottom line.
