High school football players who have recently started practices in the searing heat are likely worried more about survival than concussions. Since Saturday, three high school football players and a Texas high school coach have died during or after practice, several officially declared to be heat-related. Two of the players were from Georgia high schools, and one was a freshman from South Carolina. All were participating in practices in extreme heat conditions, some record-setting. According to WSAV.com,”Heat has been blamed for the death of one Georgia high school football player and may be the cause of another.
