The United States Department of Homeland Security has said they will begin filtering through deportation case to find those of the highest priority. That would mean those with prior arrests and felonies. Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, has said that it will give immigration judges more authority in dealing with these “higher priorities”. Meaning, that those already in custody and awaiting trail and deportation might have to wait a bit longer, or that their cases could even be thrown out allowing more resources to be devoted to more dangerous individuals.
