Washington Superior Court Judge Bryan Chushcoff ordered the 1,900 striking teachers to stop the strike and report for work. The order was after the Tacoma School District took the teachers and Tacoma Education Association Union to court. The order was in view of the concern over the lives of 30,000 students and the closed schools. The two days old strike was after talks broke down over a new contract for educators. There will be more hearings held on the legality of the strike and stalled contract negotiations.
