Judges Hire Law Clerks Before Hiring is Supposed to Start

Federal judges compete aggressively each year to get the best law students to work for them as clerks and in other positions. According to the rules, the official recruitment was set to begin on Thursday, Sept.15 at 10 am. But most of the recruitment was concluded before 9:45 am. Some were given offers by the phone also. The process has been pretty hard on the law students who aspire to these clerkships, and these types of hiring practices are in violation of the guidelines that have been laid down by the judges themselves.
