Exciting Package and WIAW

Before we get to all my delicious food, guess what came in the mail yesterday!?!?!!!!

Can you guess?

I bet you can’t.

Unless you already knew it was coming, which I did…

I GOT THE NEW iPHONE!!!!!

AAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited! (obviously). I’ve had the 3s for over 2 years, and it’s started to fail me… The internet is crazy slow, it won’t send or receive pictures through text message (or if it does, I get them about 5 days later…) and one day it just decided that the home button wouldn’t work. How nice.

But all those problems are gone now! Except one new problem: I have to pick a case! So difficult. Big decisions on the horizon.

NOW we can get on to What I Ate Wednesday, put together by Peas and Crayons! Be sure to check out other bloggers eats this week!

For my workout this morning, I hit the gym for a 2 mile run on my training schedule, and then did a great upper body workout, similar to the one here.

When I got home, I was STARVING! IT was time for some oats! I made banana oats, with 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup coconut milk, 1/3 cup water, 2 tsp chia seeds, 1/2 banana, 1 egg white and walnuts and raisins on top! Totally hit the spot.

Then it was time to run off to school early for a meeting and then straight to class! When it was time for lunch, again: STARVING! I had made a salad with Romaine lettuce, beets, hearts of palm, zucchini and pieces of roasted buttercup squash from this weekend. I topped it with Annie’s Fat Free Mango dressing – so fruity and tropical! It went great with the squash! I also had an apple after the salad.

After lunch, it was time to get a little work done and then…

JUSTICE SCALIA!!!!

Haha, if you remember, yesterday I mentioned that I was going to get to see a Supreme Court justice speak at school. Well what I saw was WAY more entertaining. After a panel on property rights, I got to watch a Moot Court argument. Moot Court is basically a fake argument in front of a panel of judges. Two students are given a case, one is arguing for the defendant and one is arguing for the plaintiff (the person who filed the suit). They present their arguments to the judge and the judges barrage them with questions in an attempt to break down their argument.

It’s actually super scary! I had to do it last year during legal writing class, and despite my fears, I actually did well and made it to the second round! Good thing I lost in that round though… moot court creates way too much anxiety for me, thank you very much.

So anyway, I got to watch two students give arguments in front of Justice Scalia! I would have DIED if I were them! That’s like if you’re an aspiring singer and you had to sing in front of Whitney Houston or Christina Aguilera (please, make fun of the singers I could think of) while they are criticizing you!

It ended up being funny though, because Justice Scalia made a few jokes, he was a great sport but really gave the two students a rough time! They sure held their own though!

Okay, after my little foray into the world of law, I’ll bring you back to food world. By the time I got home, take a guess, I was STARVING. Haha.

I whipped up something quick: Spaghetti squash with kale, diced tomatoes, white beans and nutritional yeast. It was really fast and really tasty!

Again, I apologize for the awful picture. My old iPhone’s camera is clearly failing as well… That will be fixed soon!

I was still a little hungry, so it was pumpkin for dessert! I mixed 1/2 cup pumpkin with some cinnamon and about 1/4 cup almond milk. It’s sooooo good! (well, if you’re a pumpkin freak like me). I also threw in some rice chex for good measure.

And let’s just say, I definitely went back for another bowl….

What was your favorite thing you ate this week? And do you have any odd food habits, such as eating canned pumpkin with milk…. ?
