Tea Time!

To my mother, this phrase should be read “tee time” and refer to the time which she can tee off at the first tee. Hi Mom!

(source)

Today, however, it’s time for some tea!

I’ve been following Kath on Kath Eats Real Food since this summer, and over the past month or so, she’s been showing her morning cup of tea. She always had the most amusing flavors: roasted marshmallow, gingerbread, pumpkin pie, etc.

I thought to myself, I want to try one of these crazy flavors! She gets most of her teas from Adagio, so I headed over to their website to check it out. At first, it was horribly overwhelming. They have every kind of tea imaginable, then they have teas that have been “invented” by other people, and you can make up your own tea!

Let’s just say, it was a tea overload. I was overwhelmed and ended up not buying anything. A couple weeks later, Kath mentioned she had gotten the Holiday Sampler. Now that sounded more like it. I immediately clicked on the link and found what I wanted. Sometimes you just need a little help.

So I ordered the sampler, plus two other flavors that were recommended when I looked at the sampler, and waited in dire anticipation. And you know what? I didn’t wait for long! Yesterday, while I was at school, I got this lovely e-mail from Adagio!

How polite of them to let me know!!

When I FINALLY got home that evening, I ripped (okay, cut…) open the package immediately to find all the delicious teas I’d ordered!

They even threw in the extra Candy Cane tea!

All in all, I got:

Chocolate Chai

Candy Apple

Pumpkin Spice

Candy Cane (x2! hope I like it!)

Chestnut

Gingerbread

I was about to rip them open and test them out last night, until I realized they were all black teas… which meant that they all had caffeine in them! Probably not a good idea for nighttime…

So what was the first thing I did this morning?

Make some tea! No mom, still no tee time. Although there is a golf course and driving range that I run by…

Anyway, back on topic.

I decided to try out the gingerbread this morning.

Steeping:

Foaming milk:

Tasting:

Deliciousness.

I really liked the gingerbread! It wasn’t an overwhelming flavor, but the perfect taste of gingerbread and black tea. Two thumbs up!

Today is a “me” day. So I’m off to enjoy the day! Don’t bee too jealous… “me” day also involves plenty of schoolwork…

If you could invent a tea flavor, what would it be?

What’s the most interest tea (or coffee drink) flavor that you’ve ever tried?

Do you play golf?

I’ve been playing since I was little and was even on the golf team in high school!
