The all new Apple iPhone 4S is one of the hottest new items in the country these days, with millions of people waiting in line the day it was released in hopes of going home with one. One of the phone’s most popular features is the voice-controlled personal assistant known as Siri.

A 12-year-old named Charlie LeQuesne learned not to disturb Siri. LeQuesne picked up a 4S model at a store and asked Siri the question, “How many people are there in the world?” Siri’s answer: “Shut the f*** up, you ugly t***,” the Sun reports.

“I thought I must be hearing things,” said LeQuesne’s mother. They decided to ask Siri the same question, which prompted them to receive the same answer, “the same four-letter stuff blared out.”

The managers of the store told LeQuesne that a group of pranksters might have tricked Siri into thinking that the name of the phone’s owner was that four letter word. This little trick can be performed in the set-up of the phone, but managers could not explain why Siri would use that language when answering the question regarding how many people are in the world.

Anyone who follows the new 4S phone knows that Siri can say quite a bit of interesting things and there is a huge following behind it too, evidenced by a blog devoted to her responses known as S*** That Siri Says. For instance, an owner of an iPhone asked Siri where to bury a body. Siri responded with the following list of places: “reservoirs, metal foundries, mines, dumps and swamps.” If you ask Siri to talk dirty to you, the response will include the following: “Humus. Compost. Pumice. Silt. Gravel.”

The iPhone 4S launched back in October, and since then Siri has been the center of controversy. Back in November, it was reported by the Huffington Post that Siri struggled with identifying non-English accents, which caused many to wonder is she was racist. Going even further, Siri has been declared as sexist by writer Amanda Marcotte of Forbes: “Siri behaves much like a retrograde male fantasy of the ever-compliant secretary: discreet, understanding, willing to roll with any demand a man might come up with, teasingly accepting of dirty jokes. Oh yeah, and mainly indifferent to the needs of women.”

To make matters even more interesting, the artificial intelligence has also shown a preference for pro-life pregnancy clinics over ones that provide abortions. At the time of all these controversies, a spokesperson for Apple told The New York Times the following: “These are not intentional omissions meant to offend anyone. It simply means that as we bring Siri from beta to a final product, we find places where we can do better, and we will in the coming weeks.”
