A tiger at Roadside Zoo in Russia mauled a young, three-year-old boy, leaving him in critical condition.
At the time of attack, the tiger was free, roaming behind a tiny fence. There was nothing restraining the tiger from attacking any onlooker. In fact, it’s a wonder why more people did not get hurt. An Amur Regional Investigative Committee official stated that the office was in the process of gathering further information regarding the attack. He said, “According to the information we have, the tiger was not inside the cage, it was between the fence and the cage, so it was free. It was attached by a chain, but people were allowed behind the fence to take photographs. The investigations will find out whether it was legal, and will give their legal evaluation.”
The doctor at Amur Regional Hospital, which saw to the boy, said, “The boy was brought in a bad condition, he had an emergency operation which lasted several hours. He is in intensive care now, in a bad condition. It is hard to give any prognosis so far.” Of course the child is in bad condition. He got mauled by a tiger! In the meantime, officials are working to make sure that nothing like this happens again.
