Yes, I’m 8 Years Old

Good morning! I hope all of you are sleeping in today and aren’t insomniacs like me and have been awake for way too long…

Yesterday I had 10 miles on my half-marathon running plan, so I headed to the gym as soon as it opened. I definitely was not running outside since we had gotten about 6 inches of snow the afternoon before. I saw some people attempting to run on the snow and ice covered sidewalks, and they looked more like they were walking since it took so much concentration not to slip and fall!

And honestly, I’ve found that I really don’t mind the treadmill for my long runs, especially at my gym because I’ll get one near the front and just watch all the staff up front and the people coming in and out.

I started out slow and added .1 mph for each mile that I hit. I finished the 10 miles in 1 hour and 31 minutes and then headed off to stretch! Randomly, I happened to pick a treadmill right next to a girl running 12 miles! She has a half in 2 weeks and we ended up chatting for a while. It was nice to finally find someone to talk to in my gym, most people keep to themselves! Haha I prompted her questioning me when I pulled out some GU chomps when my treadmill hit an hour and I had to restart.

For breakfast, I had another go at Julie’s Egg White Oats, and they turned out much better this time: mostly because I used a LARGER pot! No spilling and no burning my fingers!

And, just to report, my stomach felt fantastic! I think they key is NOT eating a bowl full of veggies like I did last time. I also made sure to get a little salt in my system as well, in case that was also the problem.

So later that afternoon I had some reading to do, and well, I was so tired of sitting at my desk. This is the problem with my studio: I either sit at my desk/dining table, which can eventually get uncomfortable, or I sit on my bed, where I tend to want to fall asleep. What I need is a couch… unfortunately not much room for that.

Instead, I decided to make things interesting.

I built a fort.

Yep, you read that correctly. A fort. Haha it definitely made reading a lot more interesting and definitely kept me entertained. The problem, however, was that it was very hard to get in and out of… and a little short for my head. Maybe I’ll work on better construction next weekend.

Reading in the fort!

Luckily, I didn’t go completely insane, since I left again for some dinner plans! I went to Hema’s Kitchen for some Indian food with my cousin, Allie. No pictures, I hadn’t seen her in a while and just wanted to enjoy the evening! Plus it was pretty dark in there and I feel Indian food all looks the same…

I was pretty excited because I love Indian but hadn’t had it in ages because I can’t ever find someone to go with me! Like literally, I’ve had in once in the past 2 to 3 years. That’s just sad. Anyway, we ordered Chana Masala, which is “chick peas cooked with potatoes, sliced onions and green pepper in light spices and special sauce” and then Choosa Tikka Masala, which is “marinated boneless chicken cooked in a rich creamy sauce.”

Both dishes were good, but neither blew me away, and the waitress was a bit… awkward. Haha, although it would be perfect if I ever want to get carry out because it’s pretty close by! They also had a ton of options on their menu. But it was just nice to have some Indian and catch up with Allie!

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday!

What’s your favorite ethnic food?

What weird things have you done to get yourself to do work?
