While under anesthesia, Joan Rivers might be able to write her own plastic surgery jokes. She had a chance to air out those jokes after she underwent her ‘734th’ surgery during the premiere of WE TV reality television show, “Joan & Melissa: Joan knows best?”
Rivers said, “It’s time for maybe a 10,000 mile tune-up on my neck.”
The season premiere episode was called, “Skintervention”.
Dr. Norman Leaf, her plastic surgeon from Beverly Hills, said to Rivers when she walked into the office for a consultation, “You look wonderful today. What possibly could you be doing here?”
Melissa and a bunch of young co-workers and friends tried to dissuade Rivers from going under the knife again. That effort disappeared completely when Joan said she would pay for each of them to get cosmetic work done.
Rivers, 78, underwent what the television show described as her ‘734th’ plastic surgery procedure. That number seems to be very broad and probably includes touchups every now and then and injections.
“My body is my temple,” is how she put it, “and my temple needs redecorating.”
Joan Rivers is known for her work on the red carpet each year during such award shows as the Golden Globes and now she hosts her own show on the E! Network known as ‘Fashion Police.’ On the show, Rivers and her co-hosts analyze the various outfits worn by celebrities each week on the red carpet, while browsing around stores, and while wandering around town.
