Demi Moore has been on a downward for sometime now. With the recent death of her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, it seems that her spiral may be accelerated even further.
At the funeral of 70-year-old Pattsy Rugg, Moore’s longtime sponsor, the actress appeared visibly distraught. This renowned substance abuse counselor was more than an sponsor to Moore. On one occasion, the actress introduced her sponsor as “Mom.”
The funeral happened in December and Moore has been spiraling downward at an alarming rate ever since.
Monday, the actress was rushed to Sherman Oaks Hospital. She was admitted after sniffing the low-rent party drug, whip-its. Sources at E! revealed that she had been holding a party for her close friend, Heather Perry. Throughout the party, she had been fairly hyper. Apparently, a little too hyper. She was released from the hospital on Thursday.
It remains unclear as to Moore’s current whereabouts. She is likely in a treatment rehabilitation center or back at her Beverly Hills home. Her publicist released no comment regarding the subject.
Moore has had scare’s like this in the past as well. This Monday night scare goes on the list with a mid-80s rehab stint, and her reported issue with prescription pills that aided in the reason for her divorce announcement in November.
Surely, Moore would have turned to “Mom” Rugg in a crisis this severe. Virginia Guynes, her biological mother, never supported her the way Rugg did.
Guynes’ past is filled with a vast criminal history. She refused treatment for her substance and alcohol abuse, and she posed nude for risqué nude photos in 1993 for High Society magazine.
Moore’s biological father left before she was born, and the father that raised her committed suicide.
With all the recent heartache, demons from Moore’s past seem to surface more and more. A social friend to Moore shared with the Daily News, “Demi was scary skinny, everyone talks about that. She was jumpy, jumpy, jumpy.”
The source revealed that the couple seemed very strange in public, even before the announcement of her split. The couple ignored one another entirely at a party they both attended last summer, according to the source.
Meanwhile, Kutcher is doing well. He was due in the states Thursday, after ending a party tour and fashion shoot in Brazil. Although, in the midst of his good life, he has told People magazine that he is “deeply concerned” for Moore and her recent actions.
