Many people in Hollywood get tattoos to honor their young children, see Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and David Beckham for proof. But, getting some ink done to honor your adult children who are moving away from home? We have to admit, it is a pretty cool and badass thing to do.

Kyra Sedgwick, the wife of actor and musician Kevin Bacon, did such that when she got a tattoo honoring her family. She debuted the tattoo on the red carpet of this weekend’s SAG Awards. The new tattoo was on display on her ribcage and could be seen through her red Pucci dress because of a cutout in the dress. Sedgwick told E!’s Guliana Rancic that the tattoo is a family tattoo.

“It’s all our initials K, K, S and T.”

The clean lines on the tattoo that were draw together stand for Kyra’s husband Kevin Bacon and the couple’s two kids, Travis (who is 23) and Sosie (who is 19). The couple has been married for 23 years, which is a millennium when you talk about married Hollywood couples. Not only are we impressed with their long and healthy marriage but we are also impressed with the couple’s parenting. If you are going to honor your adult children with a tattoo that is visibly seen when wearing a dress or a bathing suit, you must have done something correct with your child during the years.

Sedgwick was nominated for the category of Female Actor in a Drama Series, but fell to eventual winner Jessica Lange, from the show ‘American Horror Story.’ Despite the loss, Sedgwick seemed to enjoy herself during the evening while hobnobbing with her fellow stars.

Kyra showed off another tattoo in December when she was visiting Hawaii. She displayed somewhat of a ‘tramp stamp’ on her lower back with a tattoo across her backside. Sedgwick also sports a rose tattoo on her ankle. We do not think that Kyra will have any regrets getting the family tattoo compared to some of her other tattoos, not that she regrets any of those tattoos.

Sedgwick and Bacon were presenters at the SAG Awards while Sedgwick was also nominated for an award. She was nominated for her work as Department Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the television show ‘The Closer.’ The show just finished its seventh season and it has been reported that Sedgwick will be leaving the show to spend more time with her family.

Sedgwick is also in the new movie ‘Man on a Ledge,’ which has not been well-received. The movie stars Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks. It was released in the United States on January 27, 2012.
